The story of Axelent began in the 1990s in Hillerstorp, Småland, with a vision to create safer workplaces for those working with machines and industrial processes. Driven by innovation and a commitment to safety, the company quickly expanded, introducing solutions like machine guards to improve safety in productions and warehouses, and impact protection to keep employees and infrastructure safe.
Today, Axelent operates globally, with more than 350 employees worldwide. Despite significant growth, we have preserved a strong sense of community and togetherness, which remains at the heart of our company culture.

Meet Drew Hoxey, Managing Director of Axelent Australia
How long have you worked at Axelent?
I have worked at Axelent for almost 11 years, started December 2014.
What motivates you personally as a leader?
I’m driven by building a knowledgeable, customer-focused team that works together toward shared goals. I’m passionate about creating a company culture that not only exceeds sales targets but also provides the best possible working environment and customer experience. What motivates me most is seeing each team member grow, develop their skills, and become the best version of themselves while contributing to our collective success.
What experience did you have before you started working at Axelent?
Before joining Axelent, I spent five years in the printing industry after moving to Australia, working my way up through various roles to Sales Executive. Prior to that, I ran my own business in the UK for five years, specialising in designer flooring. My career began straight out of school with a company that operated both a carpet and flooring business and a private taxi service, where I spent 11 years progressing to General Manager and leading a team of 28 employees.

What do you do in your role?
I manage multiple areas across the business, including internal sales support, procurement, warehousing, and logistics. My role connects our Australian team with head office in Sweden to ensure smooth processes in stock planning, purchasing, and order coordination. I work closely with our Managing Director on operations and continuous improvement while supporting the team hands-on when needed.
What is the best thing about working at Axelent?
The best thing about working at Axelent is the people and the culture. Even though we’re spread across the world, there’s a genuine sense of connection and teamwork. I value that we’re encouraged to learn, share ideas, and keep improving and that the company genuinely cares about quality, our people, and doing things the right way.
How long have you been employed?
I’ve been with Axelent Australia for just over ten years now, and it’s been great to see how much we’ve grown and evolved during that time.
