The future begins at Axelent
Write your thesis, do your internship or bring your ideas to life in a global company where innovation starts in Sweden and helps create safer workplaces around the world.
Turn knowledge into real impact
At Axelent, students are not observers — you are contributors.
We are a global group with headquarters in Sweden, delivering safety solutions worldwide. Every product is developed and manufactured in Sweden and trusted by customers across the globe.
That combination — global reach and local expertise — creates a unique learning environment for students.
We collaborate closely with universities and student initiatives, including long-term partnerships such as our involvement with Jönköping University and the JU Solar Team, where we proudly act as main sponsor.
For us, these collaborations are about more than projects.
They are about building long-term relationships and giving driven students the opportunity to grow beyond the classroom.
Whether you are writing your thesis or doing your internship, you will work close to experienced colleagues, real challenges and real decision-making.
To take the next step, explore the opportunities available for students — from defined projects to spontaneous applications.
Student Opportunities at Axelent
At Axelent, we offer students the chance to make a real impact — whether through a thesis project, an internship or by bringing your own ideas to life.
Specific Thesis & Internship Projects
We occasionally publish defined projects in areas where we are looking for students. These projects give you the chance to work on real challenges, collaborate closely with experienced colleagues and contribute to our global operations.
Spontaneous Applications
Even if there isn’t a current project that perfectly matches your interests, you are always welcome to submit a spontaneous application. A link to do so can be found in the image below. We’re always curious to meet driven students who want to help shape safer workplaces worldwide.
How the Application Process Works
We want the process of joining Axelent as a student to be simple, transparent and fair.
There are two main ways to join us:
Apply to a Specific Posting
When we publish a defined thesis project or internship, you can apply directly to that position.
Applications are reviewed after the deadline and shortlisted candidates are contacted for interviews.
Submit a Spontaneous Application
Even if there isn’t a current project that matches your skills or interests, you can always send a spontaneous application.
These applications are reviewed periodically based on current business needs. While we may not be able to provide immediate feedback, your application will be considered for future opportunities.
This way, you know exactly how to take the first step — whether applying to a defined project or creating your own path with us.
From Thesis Project to Career Start
What’s it like to do your thesis at Axelent? And how can it pave the way for an exciting career?
We spoke with Joel Nilsson, a Production Engineer at Axelent AB. He started his journey with us as a thesis student and is now a valued member of the team.
He shares his experience of the natural transition from thesis project to full-time employment, how he developed during the work, and the insights he still applies in his job today. Additionally, he talks about the best parts of working at Axelent – where colleagues and the variety of tasks are in focus. Read the interview with Joel here! 👇
What’s the best part about working at Axelent?
The colleagues and the variety of tasks. People make Axelent, and the icing on the cake is that you get to work on a mix of different assignments.
How would you describe your journey from thesis project to employment with us?
It felt natural. The time spent on-site and in discussions about approaches made it feel like a natural step to start working within the Axelent Group.
How did you develop during your thesis project?
During my thesis project, we had a lot of freedom to focus on what we thought was important, which meant taking significant responsibility for keeping to the schedule. I also developed my ability to take responsibility for ensuring that the work I did created real value.
What skills or insights did you gain that you still benefit from today?
I learned that data needs to be of good quality to be relevant. In other words, if you work with poor-quality data, you’ll get poor results, no matter how good your model is. It’s important to prepare carefully in order to extract relevant information that can then be used in the next step.
Was there anything that surprised you about Axelent – something that was different from what you expected?
As a new employee, it can feel challenging to need help finding the right person or the right room, but here at Axelent, the staff were very accommodating, which made it easy to feel like part of the team.
What Our Former Students Say
-
I really appreciated the training I received and the opportunity to see how HR work functions at different levels within an organization. It was also very rewarding to have my own smaller projects and to try out different aspects of HR. The planning was well thought-out, and I felt like part of the team from day one! Following my supervisor and seeing how she works with employer branding was both inspiring and educational.
